The George Festival of Tableware 2020
CONDITIONS OF ENTRY:
All styles of tableware are acceptable for entry providing the work is predominantly made fit for purpose. Each artisan may submit 3 entries ONLY. One of which may be a 3 piece setting consisting of vessel, bowl and plate. You can send up to 4 matching place settings for this entry, 1 will be displayed and the rest for sale. All entries must be the original work, in concept and design, of the entrant and executed within the last 12 months prior to the date of entry. No work is to have been previously exhibited.
A non-refundable entry fee of $30 per entry must be included with the completed entry form.
All entry forms are to be accompanied by 3 images per work uploaded. The images should show a profile, overall view and then detail. Work submitted that does not match the images will be disqualified.
Entrants must complete and sign the official entry form. Only entries accompanied by this form will be accepted.
The entry form, images, fee and statements must be submitted by 5pm, June 26 th 2020
Late entries will not be accepted under any circumstance.
An initial selection for the exhibition will be made by committee from the images submitted. These entrants selected will be notified on the 17th July 2020 and requested to send their works to be received before 31st July 2020. Unless work arrives damaged or other than what has been submitted it will move forward to exhibition and prize selection by a panel of judges including Anne-Marie Wallace from made OF Australia. Winners will be announced on 6th August 2020 at the Festivals grand opening. The judge’s decision will be final, no correspondence will be entered into regarding any decision made by the judge. The prize details will be released through the website before August, you should register to receive these updates.
The exhibition will be open to the public for the duration of the Festival after which a selection will be made for display and sale for the following 3 weeks at Sollos in collaboration with felt.co.nz

Packaging must be clearly labelled with the entrant’s name, with entry form in an envelope attached to the outside of the package. Number of pieces included in pack.
The Ceramics Association of New Zealand reserves the right to photograph and reproduce selected work for publications relating to The George Festival of Tableware, publicity and archival purposes. The signed entry form is evidence of the entrant’s consent. All personal information gathered by The Ceramics Association of New Zealand will be used solely for the purpose of administering The George Festival of Tableware.
All work must be for sale and a commission of 30% will be charged on all sales.
At the conclusion of the Festival and Sollos exhibition unsold works will be returned by courier at The Association’s expense. An accurate return address and items packaged in returnable packaging must be provided.
Internet banking – The Ceramics Association of New Zealand (CANZ) 02 0520 0215611 001 Ref: Name of depositor - this must match the name given on your entry form.
Artists payments: Artists must provide banking details on the entry form. Payments will be made on the 20th following sale.
All works will not be covered by insurance. All due care will be taken with every aspect of the exhibition, but the organisers will not be responsible for clerical errors nor any unforeseen mistakes, including accidents or breakages, made by them or volunteer helpers. Entrants will be notified if their work is damaged in transit to the exhibition.
